MIDDLEBURY COMMONS - UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Located at 931 E Market St., Middlebury Commons is EANDC's upcoming mixed-use project that will feature forty 1&2-bed apartments for seniors 55 and over, as well as 14,000 square feet of retail space. The project is expected to be finished by fall of 2019, and we couldn't be more excited!

EAST AKRON LABOR DAY PARADE 2019

The annual East Akron Labor Day Parade is coming back in 2019! Bring your friends, bring your family and join us on the corner of South Arlington & McKinley at 9:30am for the beginning of the parade. Click here to find out more!

EAST AKRON HOMECOMING & HOMEOWNERSHIP FAIR

On Saturday, August 10th, residents from all over the city came to the East Akron Homecoming & Homeownership Fair. With live music, kid’s activities, community vendors and information on becoming a homeowner, we had something for everyone. Click here to learn more!

RHYTHM, RHYME, & REVITALIZATION!

On Thursday, May 30th, EANDC held its annual fundraiser as a 1930s speakeasy! With good music, food, and a few big-ticket auction items, good times were had by all. Find out more about the event (including our wonderful sponsors) here!

TRICK OR TREAT AT EANDC

Staff members dressed up, brought candy, and threw a spooky celebration! Roughly 150 children from Irma Jones, Abacus and Arlington Church of God came through the building and everyone had a blast. You can see all the photos here!

EAST AKRON LABOR DAY PARADE

There was a great turnout this year at the 2018 Labor Day Parade! The route spanned from South Arlington to Concord Avenue, and we were happy to be a part of this East Akron tradition that’s happened since the 70s.

EAST AKRON JUBILEE & HOMEOWNERSHIP FAIR

On Saturday, August 4th, EANDC hosted the 2018 East Akron Jubilee at Minson Plaza! There was live music, food, a bounce house, giveaways, homeownership education, and more. We’re already looking forward to next year!

EAST AKRON BUBBLE FEST

EANDC was proud to sponsor @PLAY's event, the East Akron Bubble Fest! On the afternoon of July 6th, the community enjoyed interactive art and bubble making with the 4x Guinness World Record Winner for the largest soap bubbles – Dr. UR AWESOME!

HYPE - PUBLIC ART PROJECT

On June 13-14, EANDC hosted a collaborative art project with AtPlay Akron and renowned local artist Mac Love as part of our HYPE program. Look forward to more public art around East Akron!

Revving it Up for Revitalization!

On May 17th, we held our annual fundraiser at the John S. Knight Center and had a blast! We had dancing, food, a silent auction, an RC race car track, and a bunch of REALLY NICE cars on display. Check it out!

Race for a Place 5K

On April 7th, EANDC staff members showed up to to support OCCH and OHFA's Race for a Place to Call Home 5K! Despite the (very) cold weather, everyone had a great time.

East Akron Neighborhood Cookbook

Over the past year, we worked with members of the community to compile recipes from friends, family, and neighbors in the East Akron area into one great cookbook. Check it out on Amazon!
