Every year at EANDC we work with members of the community to take care of our planet on Earth Day. Last year, we cleaned up our community gardens in the Akron area to prepare them for planting in May. This year we will be doing an East Akron neighborhood clean up in select locations. We will be meeting at our offices located on 550 S. Arlington Street in Akron. We will be picking up trash along S. Arlington Street into 5th Avenue, Chiteenden Street, then Mckinley Avenue. We will finish cleaning at our Chittenden and Mckinley Community Garden.

We are excited to partner with Fifth Third bank to bring there E-Bus, also known as the Financial Empowerment Mobile to West Akron. The bus will feature experts from Fifth Third Bank to provide assistance with opening a checking account, down payment assistance, rental resources, workforce development and so much more. We will be bringing experts from our Center for Homeownership team and Energy Services to assist with any questions you may have about any of our programs. Summa Health will also be in attendance providing healthcare resources.

It will be at our senior apartments building Village at New Seasons parking lot. It is located on 1495 S. Hawkins Ave, Akron, Ohio. It is a free event from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Building bridges and strengthening lives

On June 12, 2026, we will be partnering with McGregor PACE to have a Spring Senior Health and Wellness Fair at McGregor PACE’s Day Center located in Akron. An event filled with educational resources for seniors, giveaways, music, food, and refreshments. .

We are currently looking for healthcare providers, insurance representatives, fitness and wellness programs, and nutrition and food services, We will only be accepting 15 vendors due to capacity level.
